Members are encouraged to share and discuss their images.
Like all art, photography is subjective. There is no right or wrong when it comes to producing an image. Yet discussion and constructive critique offer a fantastic opportunity to see your photos through others’ eyes, learning new perspectives in the process. Perhaps a simple crop could transform your image? Or a subtle vignette? ECC hosts regular ‘Image Discussion Evenings’ where members can bring along images, either on a set subject or a subject of their choosing, for discussion in a welcoming environment. Our members come from a range of backgrounds with varying levels of experience. We make sure everyone feels welcome and comes away learning something.
‘Local Heroes Evenings’ where a small number of club members show and discuss a collection of images with the rest of the club.
‘Special Interest Groups’, these small groups provide a more intimate setting and time to share and discuss images, often on a given theme for that month.
‘Distinctions’, many members are working towards or have achieved distinctions through organisations like The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB).
‘Annual Digital and Print Competition’, we have two internal competitions a year, one Digital Projected Image and one Printed Image where members are invited to enter two images in each competition. These are then appraised/judged by an external photographic judge.
