Marc Wilson ‘The Documentary Landscape’ (Zoom Speaker: View from Home)

Marc sets out to document the memories, histories and stories that are set in the landscapes that surround us. He ternds to work on long term documentary projects and his project called ‘The Last Stand’ took four to five years to complete while ‘A Wounded Landscape – bearing witness to the Holocaust’ was a project that lasted six years..

Marc has published 4 photo books – The Last Stand (2010-2014), Travelogue 1(2015-2018), A Wounded Landscape – bearing witness to the Holocaust (2015-2021) and Remnants (2021-2022). Together his books have sold over 5000 copies.

Marc is widely published in a number of different prestigious magazines and has also held a number of solo exhibitions include those at Side Gallery, Newcastle, The Royal Armouries Museum and Focal point Gallery in the UK and Spazio Klien in Italy. Group shows include those at The Photographers Gallery and the Association of Photographers gallery, London, and internationally at The Athens PhotoFestival and Tel Aviv Museum of Art. He has also worked as a visiting lecturer at various universities in the UK and have given talks about my work both in the UK and abroad including France and Asia.

Marc will be talking to us this evening on ‘The Documentary Landscape’ how he uses his landscape photography to tell stories and portray histories.
