Hi Everyone
Thank you for your replies in response to the trip. There will be eleven of us to tour the grounds, meet for lunch and then most people will be going on to Totnes afterwards.
So if we meet at the entrance to Dartington Hall at 10.30am. Tickets can be purchased from the Welcome Centre. If you are a member of the RHS entrance is free, if you belong to English Heritage it is 2 for the price of 1. For everyone else it is £5, as a concession.There is a paying car park opposite the entrance.
For those that would like to take part, there is a conducted tour starting at 11am, places are limited and should be booked online. At the moment there are 8 places left, but I was advised that it is informal and others could take part.
After exploring the grounds we meet for lunch at The White Hart Pub, where we are booked in for 12.30. There is a varied menu with 2 main courses for £20 or bar snacks. The White Hart is within the grounds.
After lunch on to Totnes for those that wish to go. There are several car parks and the one nearest to the market is Old Market Car Park, Cistern Street, TQ9 5SP. The town itself is full of interesting shops and buildings especially at the top end of the town called The Narrows. If you prefer to visit The Quay area there is parking at the Steamer Quay Car Park, TQ9 5AL.
As for car sharing, several people have offered to drive; Myself, Sue , Bridget and Bryan and Alan will be travelling together. If you do not have a lift and would like one, please contact one of the drivers to make arrangements. I will have two spaces and will be coming from Exmouth. I could pick up from Countess Weir.
