Assuming the weather allows, come along for an Autumn Field Trip to the Dart Valley.
Meet at the New Bridge car park (What3Words = comically.crashing.trailers) for 9.30 am on Saturday 22nd October before heading out to try and capture the colours of autumn on and around the River Dart.
At 1pm, aim to be at the Forest Inn, Hexworthy (ambitions.faster.hugs) for some refreshment.
As with all trips please think about your safety and ensure you have appropriate clothing and equipment. Conditions can change quickly so don’t rely on the weather forecast if it’s looking nice. If you don’t have an Ordnance Survey map of the area (highly recommended), their mobile app is useful as you can save maps to your phone which will work with the in built GPS
Heading off on your own is not recommended and if you do, bear in mind that there is unlikely to be any mobile signal especially at locations such as the waterfall at Venford Brook where the valley is steep and slippy.
We’re sure many of you know the area well, but attached are some images and maps which may be of some help.
