This shoot was a bit of a challenge. Despite the dodgy forecast, a determined group turned up. Sadly, the rain persisted, & there was little photography. I have attached a couple of images. The first is by Chris Bailey, who captured the vivid colours of the beach huts which shone through the gloom. The second is a rare deliberate ICM type image by me. The light was very dim, and I thought it would be an opportunity to experiment. If I learned nothing else, I found out that my ICM horizons are far from straight.

Exhibition from Ken Barrett. For those who for those not familiar with him, he is a very long established member with deep photographic experience and skill. He has an exhibition at the Cafe at 76 Fore Street in Topsham, which will show for the whole of July, with nearly 30 images on display. These include some from his boat art series (landscapes and similar found in the worn hulls of boats), mirage type images from Saunton Sands, and shots from Namibia. The cafe is open from 10-4 daily, and hopefully you will be able to drop in. It’s great to have a member’s images, especially physical prints, on show.
Anne Whitely tells me that the Mid Devon Show will be taking place on 23 July 2022 at Knightshayes, near Tiverton
