23 May 2022 Devon Club Battle

REPORT on the DEVON  BATTLE held on Saturday 21st. May

Chris writes….

There were some wonderful panels and individual images with lots of creativity of thought and originality along the way. Unfortunately, our panel, on the theme of cathedral architecture was not placed but Penny Piddock, the judge, was very complimentary in the way the panel had been put together and enjoyed the variety in the images. No individual image in the panel was placed in a very strong field of panels.

What was particularly heartening was how well we did in the individual image section. There were 55 individual images represented across the 11 clubs competing. With each image scoring a maximum of 20 points our 5 images amassed a score of 93 points which gave us joint second place with Tavistock – beaten only by Torbay with 94 points. Ray Yardley’s image entitled ‘An Artistic Moment’, gained a highly commended, and  Tim Crabb’s ‘Blue-tailed Damselfly gained 20 points ,our highest scoring image.

Congratulations to Ray and thanks to all our members who contributed to this event especially those involved in preparing the panel, it was important  for us to participate as we emerged from the pandemic.
