We have just two competitions a year, generally preferring to appreciate images on their own merits, with much discussion, often involving the author.

For both competitions, we have a number of categories.  This year they were landscape, nature, people and pictorial.  We had a good spread of some 80 images across these categories.  Our judge was David Snowden ARPS, a former member and president of the club.  It was great to welcome him back.  We appreciated his perceptive and detailed feedback.

An overall winning image chosen from the winning images in the categories.

The overall winning image, and the first in the pictorial category was ‘Light’ by Dimitrios Theodorakis.  Congratulations to him.

The winner in the landscape category was Phil Woolley’s  ‘Alone in the Mist’.

The winning image in the nature category was Deborah Hammond’s ‘Common Spotted Orchid’.

Sheila Haycox won the people category with her image ‘Obilivious’.

Congratulations to all the winners and those who gained second and third places.  Well done also to all of the other competitors who helped to set such a high standard for the competition.

A full set of the winners and those placed can be found in our gallery.
