Local wildlife photographer and ecologist Andrew McCarthy gave us a stunning and very enjoyable presentation of images and an eloquent talk on a selection of nature projects and his pathway through the Royal Photographic Society distinctions to achieving his Fellowship with a distinctive Insect panel. Andrew has developed his nature photographic craft through perseverance, patience and preparedness to experiment and learn a number of techniques, together with close observation in the field. He shoots mainly close to home and in his garden where he has a large pond and bats in his woodshed. He firmly believes in working on projects to motivate and inspire and as an aid to improving your photography. Andrew now sits on the RPS Nature panel for Associateship and Fellowship.
